“Strana e meravigliosa” di David Harbour e Lily Allen
È un mondo colorato quello della casa di Lily Allen e David Harbour a Brooklyn. Tutta vestita di un intrepido pasticcio di paralumi a palloncino, di chintz, lampadari di cristallo, seta rosa, tessuti a motivi di tigri e carta da parati in mylar, la casa lancia un rimprovero a tutto campo alla moda attuale per il buon gusto silenzioso di una camicia beige. Allen (in a Saint Laurent dress) and Harbour (wearing a 6397 sweater and Front General Store jeans) in the living/garden room. A 19th-century English chandelier hangs above a Pier Luigi Colli cocktail table and a custom double-sided sofa in a Pierre Frey velvet with Houlès fringe. The stairway is sheathed in Loro Piana striped cotton velvet. Carpet by Pierre Frey.
The fireplace in the primary bath/sitting room is flanked by Louis XVI–style commodes converted to washstands.
The primary bed is covered in Pierre Frey silk with Houlès fringe. Zuber wallpaper; Pierre Frey carpet.
Allen’s dressing room has custom Florense closets.
The bath for the two children is wrapped in a China Seas Mylar wallpaper through Quadrille. Tub, sink, and toilet by The Water Monopoly; Speakman fixtures, Daltile tile, and ceiling light by Visual Comfort.
In the downstairs den, the Le Manach tiger-patterned carpet and sofa fabric are from Pierre Frey. Sconces by Liedekerke; side table by Banci Firenze for Gucci. A painting by Tabboo! hangs above an Eduardo Paolozzi drawing (center). The painting in the corner is by Richard Tinkler.
